At BlueWren Surgical, we've done our best to create a web site that will answer your questions. With that goal in mind, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions. If you do not find an answer to your question here, contact us on: 08 9707 2770 or by e-mail.

How much does medically necessary surgery cost?

Surgery as a public patient, does not incur any charges. Consultation fees are payable at the time of consultation, but are partly reimbursed by Medicare. Insured private patients may be subject to a fee ‘gap’ depending on their level of insurance. A quote will always be provided prior to the surgery.

How much does cosmetic surgery cost?

Cosmetic surgery is not reimbursed by Medicare, and is not usually covered by private insurance. Goods and services Tax is also applicable (10%). A quote will be provided. Due to low overheads you will find the cost of services at BlueWren Surgical competitive.

What is the difference between private and public care?

Most private patients will be treated at the private hospital (SJOG), and public patients at the Regional Hospital. Doctors in training may be involved in the direct care of public patients. Public waiting lists can be long, and treatment is subject to late notice deferment, depending on workload priorities. Consultant only care will be given to private patients, and the private hospital provides ready access to single rooms if desired.
